February 9 – Another Day of Leisure and a Photo Shoot, Bora Bora, French Polynesia

Another slow day.  We had nothing on most of the day so enjoyed some down time and did some work.

We watched some workers rethatching one of the bungalows.  They stripped off the thatch and just threw it into the water where another guy waded around to retrieve it and pile it onto a small barge.  It was amazing to watch them work, climbing around on the boards to which the thatch is attached.  None of them were wearing proper shoes, let alone work shoes.  They were all either barefoot or in flip flops.  Sort of scary.

We had a really heavy rain during the day.  It only lasted about a half hour but it was quite heavy.

And the roofers worked right through the rain.

Mid-morning Mary gave Paul a haircut.  Such a location for a haircut.  With a great view.

It was sunny and clear when we went down for lunch.  We love eating on the terrace with such good views of the waters and the bungalows.

At 4:30 we were picked up for a Love Boat ride in the lagoon.  Turned out, it was really a photo shoot.  Could have done without the photography.  But it was a lovely ride.

We saw an eagle ray.

And a stingray.

There were clouds left over from this morning's rain...and it is beautiful.

We got closer to the barrier reef.

We stopped at the coral garden.

It looked like it was raining on the horizon but we stayed dry through the cruise.

A couple photos from our photo shoot.  We didn’t understand this was a photo shoot so weren’t really dressed all that well.  The background is great.

But we did enjoy the ride and our photographer was interesting.
